EPMA Launches New Brand to Promote Range of Powder Metallurgy Applications

The European Powder Metallurgy Association (EPMA) has launched a new brand to promote the range of applications where powder metallurgy (PM) can be used. The 'International Spotlight on Powder Metallurgy', recently launched at the Euro PM2012 Congress & Exhibition, provides a comprehensive and relevant body of material in showcasing the capabilities of PM in end user applications.

The case studies have been designed to be easy-to-reference, as they have been categorized into one of four benefits to end users, Improved Performance, Increased Complexity of the Component Produced, Cost Saving and Weight Saving. Additional product data on the individual case study PDF’s includes the customer’s requirements of the part, as well as the finishing processes, hardness and tensile strength to name but a few.

'This is the start of a project that will collect PM industry relevant case studies to highlight how PM has assisted in end user applications' explained Andrew Almond, EPMA's Marketing Manager. He went onto add 'The depth and variety of where PM components can be applied is far reaching and I hope by having these types of case studies available will help future end users to explore how they can realise the benefits of using PM.'

Over 25 PM case studies, covering a variety of applications and sectors, are available to view at www.epma.com > Members Area > Spotlight on PM section.
