Yingli Green Energy’s Multicrystalline Module Ranks High in PHOTON Module Yield Test 2012

Yingli Green Energy Holding Company Limited ("Yingli Green Energy" or the "Company"), a leading solar energy company and one of the world's largest vertically integrated photovoltaic ("PV") manufacturers, which markets its products under the brand "Yingli Solar," today announced that the Company ranked third among ninety well-known manufacturers worldwide in the PHOTON Module Yield Test 2012 (the "Test") conducted from January 1, 2012 to December 31, 2012.

At the PHOTON outdoor test field in Aachen, Yingli Green Energy's flagship multicrystalline module (the YGE 60 Cell Series, YL240P-29b) generated an annual yield of 1,118.7 kilowatt-hours per kilowatt. According to the test result, the performance ratio of Yingli Green Energy's module reached 93.1% and exceeded that of the winner from the same test in 2011 by 2.8%. This performance ratio indicates what percentage of the incoming solar irradiance converts into electricity and determines the ranking in the Test.

The 60 Cell Series that was tested is technically and materially similar to other popular multicrystalline product lines, including the Company's 48 Cell Series for residential, the utility-scale module lines, YGE 72 Cell Series and YGE U-Series, as well as YGE-Z Series (with a proprietary Zep Solar frame).

"We're pleased to have achieved such top results, which validates that Yingli modules perform exceptionally well in the field," said Dr. Dengyuan Song, Chief Technology Officer of Yingli Green Energy. "As we stay committed to technology innovation and quality control, we are focused on continuously enhancing the performance of our products and delivering reliable modules to our customers worldwide."
