SEMICON Europa is the annual premier event for the global microelectronics industry in Europe. For the first time ever, the event will be held in France.
It will provide an opportunity for industry representatives to display new products and state of the art technologies and for the first time from Materials up to electronic applications. Grenoble, France has been chosen as the event location for the strength of its semiconductor Ecosystem, with world class Universities, R&D Institutes and Industry clustered around Innovation. The event will take place from October 7th to 9th.
Throughout the three days of exhibition and conferences, SEMICON exhibitors and speakers will demonstrate that the European microelectronics industry is as dynamic as ever and that Europe continues to provide a highly favorable environment for innovation and the development of new technology.
A major European event 400 companies and 6000 visitors will come together for SEMICON Europa, the “not-to-be-missed” event for the semiconductor industry. Over 70 conferences will be held over the course of 3 days, hosting over 300 speakers. The industry perceived a 7.9% market growth in Europe during the first semester of 2014, according to WSTS association.
The semiconductor industry is today driven by mobile communication, computing, and the Internet of Things but also by increasing demand for sensors (MEMS), imaging and security devices, and demand from the automobile industry. For the first time this year, SEMICON Europa will provide the setting for exchanges around new and more applicative technology.
The event will host 6 application segments, including a one-of-a-kind conference and exhibition space dedicated to imaging, and conferences and Tech Arenas dedicated to energy efficiency, security, healthcare, components and design. A specific “Allée des Clusters” will showcase the major European and regional clusters with an 7th European Semiconductor Forum program.
The Innovation Village will demonstrate the potential of the microtech, nanotech, medtech and cleantech domains. Investors and start-ups from around the world will gather at Innovation Village to participate in a 3-in-1 event offering a Start-up exhibition, the Silicon Innovation Forum and the Innovation Conference.
Over 30 promising and internationally recognized European start-ups, such as ActLight (Switzerland), BlinkSight (France) and Silicon Line (Germany), will present their companies in the Innovation Village exhibition space for 3 days and, as part of the Silicon Innovation Forum, will each deliver a start-up pitch in front of investors and SEMICON visitors.
Innovation Village will also host the Innovation Conference on October 8th, offering visitors a forum to reflect on the impact of Innovation and New Technology in microelectronics on the industry, and the challenges facing these domains. The conference will feature high-profile speakers including Nicolas Leterrier (VP Innovation Schneider Electric), Dan Armbrust (Industry Relations, Silicon Catalyst), Loic Lietar (co-founder, KET Foundation) and
Internationally renowned speakers The event will be the opportunity to focus on major issues facing the semiconductor industry. By bringing together some of the most reputable European experts, SEMICON Europa is faciliting exchanges between professionals that will help to ensure the stability of the innovation process in the domain of microelectronics.
Over 70 conferences will be held over the course of 3 days, hosting over 300 speakers. Numerous industry leaders will present their vision of the evolution of the semiconductor industry (featured speakers will include Audi, Schneider Electric, Microsoft, CEA-Leti…).
