Hydro to Restructure Aluminium Business to become More Flexible and Market Driven

Hydro is restructuring its Aluminium Products business area to support the new strategy and make it more flexible and market driven.

The organizational changes will primarily affect today’s Extrusion and Automotive sectors, both being split into new businesses.

The new sectors are:

Extrusion Europe, headed by Johnny Undeli
Extrusion Overseas, headed by Fernando Simoes Henriques
Building Systems, headed by Lars Hauk Ringvold
Precision Tubing, headed by Salvador Biosca
Automotive Components, headed by Hendrik Brenig
Rolled Products will continue to be organized as one sector, headed by Hans-Joachim Kock.

All six sector heads will report to the head of the business area, Svein Richard Brandtzæg.

The new leaders will take up their positions September 1 and the new organizational structure will be further detailed before implementation.

Closer to market

Svein Richard Brandtzæg emphasizes that his ambition is to make Aluminium Products more profitable with a more flexible, market-driven and lean organization than is the case today.

“Speed in decision-making is essential, and by flattening the organization – or, effectively removing one level – we will enable the managers closer to the market to make decisions,” says Brandtzæg.
