POSCO, the frontier of coexistence business with small/medium companies, becomes the first company in Korea to offer `customized technological support` to small/medium companies.
In cooperation with POSTECH, RIST, Pohang Techno Park, POSCO will organize a technological advisory and provide free technological support that would meet the needs of small/medium companies. In order to do so, POSCO first made `Techno Partnership` with 37 select local companies in Pohang, including Shinil and Intech on the September 13.
The technological advisory, the backbone of the Techno Partnership, consists of 512 Ph.D.s, including 213 specialists from POSCO Technological Research Center, 154 from POSTECH, 129 from RIST, and 16 from Pohang Techno Park. The companies with Techno Partnership will receive onsite technological consulting and customized support from the technological advisory to be able to fulfill their needs especially in specialized manpower, technology, and equipment.
The Techno Partnership, which will start with small/medium companies in Pohang, will focus on their long-term improvement rather than short-term profits and will be extended to Gwangyang region as early as next year based on the performance.
POSCO anticipates that the Techno Partnership will promote coexistence of large and small/medium companies through free technological support and will eventually enhance the competitiveness of POSCO network in the long run.
The ceremony was held at the Grand Conference Room at POSCO Headquarters and about 200 related dignitaries, including Mayor Seung Ho Park of Pohang, Mr. Byeong Seok Lee of the National Assembly, Vice Director Seung Hun Lee of Small and Medium Business Administration, and Director Tae Yong Lee of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Energy, Director Jong Seon Park of the Federation of Korean Industries` Large and Small Business Cooperation Center, and Senior Executive Vice President Joon-Yang Chung of POSCO.
