X-CLARITY System for Fast, Efficient Clearing of Brain and Spinal Cord Samples

The video shows Quentin Barraud from EPFL, explaining the advantages of imaging with X-CLARITY™ electrophoretic tissue clearing system. Compared to classic histological techniques, X-Clarity allows visualizing fiber tracks in brain and spinal cord samples that were not visible in 2D images.

The X-CLARITY™ system saves time by clearing brain samples in 6 to 7 hours. It also provides quantitative data of tissue samples and helps track the course of an axon from the cortex to the lumbar spinal cord. Thus, the X-CLARITY™ system allows physicians to understand the deep mechanism of neural networks after an injury.
