Scanning Small Batteries Using X-ray Inspection Technology

This video shows the first episode of iNSIght,  which takes a closer look at how non-destructive testing aids in safeguarding our lives by using digital industrial X-ray scanning to gauge a part’s quality and integrity.

Dave Johnson and Nate DeRoo from North Star Imaging highlight one of the many uses of product scanning. They demonstrate how X-ray inspection technology helps to identify the cause of damage in a small, faulty battery. Dave and Nate also reveal the time taken for X-ray inspection, accuracy and resolution of scanning, and how the reconstructed data can be used for R&D and QA processes. At North Star Imaging, 2D, 3D and 4D imaging can be easily done. Thousands of products can also be scanned in batches using the X-ray inspection technology. North Star Imaging has facilities in the US, UK, France, and China that are capable of imaging many products.
