Fibre Analysis Using Scanning Electron Microscopy

The accurate analysis of fibers is important to industries such as the filtration industry. In the past, fibre analysis and measurement was carried out using light microscopes. However, as fibres have become smaller and with higher degrees of accuracy required, these instruments lacked the required resolution to carry the required analysis. A scanning electron microscope would have been the natural progression, but now, the FEI Phenom personal electron microscope provides a cost effective and rapid alternative to those looking to analyze fibers.
