Denver-based gas and oil company, Gary-Williams Energy declared that its Wynnewood Refining Company (WRC) has inked a long-term contract with Tessenderlo Kerley to increase the capacity of sulfur processing in WRC’s refinery in Wynnewood, Oklahoma.
The refinery manufactures asphalt, solvents, military jet fuels, diesel fuels and gasoline. Phoenix-based Tessenderlo Kerley produces and supplies specialty chemicals.
The Group Vice President of Operations and Technical Services at Tessenderlo Kerley, Ken Gagon commented that Tessenderlo Kerley will design, build, possess and operate the new sulfur processing facility and manage the existing sulfur producing properties of both Gary-Williams Energy and WRC as per the deal. The sulfur processing facility will manufacture ammonium thiosulfate called as Thio-Sul for Tessenderlo Kerley’s markets.
The President and Chief Executive Officer of Gary-Williams Energy, Ron Williams commented that the expansion of the sulfur processing capability along with Tessenderlo Kerley’s experience in offering durable sulfur processing facilities would improve Gary-Williams Energy’s environmental programs.
The Chief Executive Officer of Tessenderlo Kerley, Jordan Burns stated that the new deal would enable the company to increase its supply to meet the growing demand for sulfur-based nutrients.
