A. Schulman Expands Specialty Powders Production Plant in Texas

Provider of ultra-performance plastic resins and compounds, A. Schulman has proclaimed that it will invest to include additional equipment at its production plant in China, Texas to meet the growing demand for its Specialty Powders business. The expanded facility is expected to be operational in the beginning of 2012.

The General Manager and Chief Operating Officer of the Americas at A. Schulman, Gustavo Perez stated that the company’s strategic investment would enable it to fulfill the current and future demands in its Specialty Powders business. The expansion would allow the company to provide better services to its customers as well as improve efficiency by consolidating various processing methods into one location.

Eric Parsons, Managing Director of ICO Polymers - The Americas, a division of A. Schulman, commented that the company’s Specialty Powders business utilizes advanced equipment to manufacture tailored powders for various special market applications. The company collaborates with its clients to produce unique-sized powders for specific applications. The company’s ability to modify a material into a tailor-sized powder often assists in identifying the feasibility of the required final product.
