Celotex has introduced a new premium performance polyisocyanurate (PIR) insulation product called the FR5000, which offers an improved lambda value of 0.021 W/mK to provide superior U-values.
According to Celotex, the foil faced PIR board is nearly 10% better than standard PIR products and more than 100% thermally effective than most mineral fibre products. It is engineered specifically for applications in pitched walls, floors and roofs to fulfill the growing needs of specifiers demanding superior product performance.
With higher thermal efficiency, the FR5000 enables specifiers to select thinner insulation products to fulfill the required specifications, decrease material expenditures and enhance useable space. Similarly, for projects that demand high-degree of insulation, the FR5000 with minimal profile thickness can offer better solutions.
Moisture significantly affects the thermal performance of mineral wool and phenolic based insulations, while it has no effect on the FR5000. The lightweight nature of the premium PIR product allows easy handling and reduces waste disposal.
The FR5000 offers fire protection in addition to superior performance insulation, as it is the first PIR board with a Class O fire rating, which applies both for the foam core and the whole product. Celotex’ other premium range thermal performance insulation products include CG5000 and SL5000.
The CG5000 is specifically developed for applications in partial cavity walls, while the SL5000 is a combination of 6 mm calcium silicate bonded to premium performance PIR insulation for applications in concrete soffit floors.
With its exceptional thermal performance, the FR5000 is suitable for complex construction projects and fulfills current building standards.
