NanoH2O’s QuantumFlux RO Membrane Wins Aquatech Innovation Award

NanoH2O, a producer of economical and efficient reverse osmosis membranes for desalination of seawater, has declared that it has been presented the 2011 Aquatech Innovation Award for its thin-film nanocomposite QuantumFlux RO membrane under the category of ‘Water Supply’ at Aquatech Amsterdam Exhibition conducted from 1 to 4 November 2011 in Amsterdam.

In the event, 50 firms were chosen across five categories, which include innovation not to market yet, transport and storage, process control and automation, water treatment and water supply. The panel of experts selected the entries on the basis of various parameters such as sustainability, feasibility and product originality.

The QuantumFlux membrane’s commercial availability and proven field performance were the two major aspects behind the selection of the product. Moreover, the additional factor considered for the product’s selection was NanoH2O’s potential to mass-produce spiral-wound and flat sheet components of QuantumFlux membranes at its vertically integrated production plant located in Los Angeles, California, for customers globally.

The Chief Executive Officer at NanoH2O, Jeff Green stated that the company is happy to receive the Aquatech Innovation award under the water supply category, and to be acknowledged together with other innovators in the water treatment sector. The company’s QuantumFlux membranes continue to deliver higher energy savings and system productivity to its customers, he said. This recognition further evaluates the feasibility of the company’s nanocomposite membrane technology and reinforces its position in the worldwide marketplace, he concluded.
