AVX, a producer of interconnect solutions and advanced electronic passive components, has expanded on its miniature GX-series ultra-broadband multilayer capacitors by including the new GX01 capacitor with a frequency range of about 160 kHz to 40 GHz, which will provide solutions for DC blocking concerns.
The newly included GX01 capacitor ensures reduced insertion loss value of less than 0.5 dB through at least 40 GHz. The AVX’s GX01 capacitor is designed using the company’s patented precision termination process.
The company’s GX01 ultra-broadband capacitor is featured with a standard EIA 0201 footprint to reduce the need of board space. The GX01 ultra-broadband capacitor also delivers X5R or X7S dielectric characteristics. The newly designed AVX’s GX01 capacitor can be suitably used in various applications such as optical receiver subassemblies, trans-impedance amplifiers, semiconductor data communications and test equipments. The GX series capacitors’ terminals are made of 100% tin and all the components of GX01 are RoHS complaint. The company’s GX01 capacitor’s lead time is stock to six weeks.
Larry Eisenberger, AVX’s senior marketing applications engineer, stated that the company’s patented termination process used in the design of the GX01 capacitor allows it to deliver extremely low insertion values and return loss.
