Second Edition of International Plastics Design Competition Commences

The second edition of the International Plastics Design Competition (IPDC) which is organised by SPI has commenced at the Plastics Industry Trade Association (NPE2012). The NPE2012 will take place at the Orange County Convention Centre located in Florida.

For the purpose of the competition, entries are invited for components or finished products from companies along with their supply chain designer, material supplier, equipment builder, toolmaker and processor, individuals or Original Equipment Manufacturers. Entries must be submitted online. The entries should be under end-user market strategies ranging from transportation to agriculture.

People who visit the website can cast their votes online for People’s Choice Award. The products or components which are participating in the competition will be displayed at NPE2012. The awards ceremony will take place on April 3 at NPE2012 where the winners will be recognised along with their supply chain distributors. All the awards such as award for most innovative product, award for achieving sustainability and other special awards will be decided by the judges who have been chosen by SPI based on their knowledge of the plastics industry and its design. Besides this an additional judging panel which will be selected by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) will choose a winner for the award that is co sponsored by the plastics industry newspaper Plastic News and IDSA.
