The Network Group for Composites in Construction (NGCC) has declared that its membership has been opened to firms located all over the world. NGCC was set up to enable the use of fibre reinforced polymers (FRPs) in building applications.

According to the Coordinator of the group, Dr. Sue Halliwell, NGCC is fairly exceptional; as very few groups bring together the complete supply chain for composite usage in construction all over the world. They observed that several firms from abroad were communicating with the company by means of social networks and websites, and understood that the company necessarily required extending the membership, and providing data about FRPs to the construction industry.
The company has said that it supports the development of key technologies and markets by creating working groups from the wider industry and membership in order to face the problems in the industry. A UK-based central organisational office helps these groups. The design control for UK FRP Bridge engineers is being now outlined by one such group, having an objective of increasing confidence in this material application, and that facilitates the technology to be utilized in the region.
Event and Network Coordinator, Claire Whysall noted that several membership opportunities are relevant to both firms present overseas as well as local firms. They hold only searchable database of members, a huge library of case studies and e-newsletters that members only can donate to and minimize the rate of delegate participation at the company’s events and the International Advanced Composites in Construction and FRP Bridges conference series.
