Umeco plc, an international provider of supply chain management, distribution, repair & overhaul services and advanced composite materials primarily to the aerospace & defence and automotive industries, today announces plans to strengthen its presence in South East Asia with the creation of a new Singapore office and hub warehouse.
The Company has secured a facility within the Changi North Aerospace Hub and is on schedule to be fully operational in early fourth quarter 2007. The new facility is well placed to provide Umeco's high quality services to the rapidly growing local and regional aerospace markets. Umeco began its expansion into Singapore in January 2007 through the incorporation of a wholly owned company, Umeco Asia Pte Ltd.
The new facility is 19,000 sq ft and is located within the Changi North aerospace hub, which houses some of the largest aerospace facilities in the region; such as Goodrich Aerostructures, Nordam, Thales, ST Aviation Services Company (Sasco), ACE Services (Parker) and others. SAESL (Rolls Royce) and Eagle Services Asia (PW) are also located nearby.
The facility will offer the full range of Umeco Supply Chain and Repair & Overhaul services, serving existing Umeco customers with a presence in Asia, as well as targeting new customers from across the region.
Francis Tan, Managing Director of Umeco Asia Pte Ltd, said:
"We are delighted to have secured these high quality facilities in what is a prime location for providing our customers with the levels of service they have come to expect. Once open, the facility will mean we can also look to further expand our reach in the region and over the next few years, Umeco Asia will look to support the strong growing Asian aerospace sector and expand into other aerospace hubs via 'satellite' warehouses."
