Düsseldorf-based ThyssenKrupp Services AG is adding to its materials services operations in Western Europe and, retroactively as of August 1, 2007, this Services segment of the ThyssenKrupp Group has acquired through its Düsseldorf-based ThyssenKrupp Röhm Kunststoffe GmbH, a 100-percent stake in the Dutch company Stokvis Plastics B.V., Roosendaal.
Some 50 employees at Stokvis Plastics generated sales of around €12 million in 2006. Stokvis Plastics operates a central warehouse and five service centers in the Netherlands and Belgium.
Stokvis Plastics specializes in the marketing, distribution and value-adding processing of plastic semis and other custom-tailored solutions for plastic panels, film/sheeting, and piping with special emphasis on customer consultancy and service.
“The acquisition of Stokvis represents for us, alongside the already established trading activities, an access into the plastics services business through which we intend to position ourselves dynamically and sustainably on the Benelux market," explains Werner Eschbach, Executive Board member of ThyssenKrupp Materials International and CEO of ThyssenKrupp Röhm Kunststoffe. “We will mesh Stokvis closely with our already established operations in this part of Europe with the aim of generating even greater value for our customers."
ThyssenKrupp Röhm Kunststoffe is a lead player in the European plastics services market and offers its customers in the construction, printing, decoration and display markets a broad ranging product lineup of plastic semis, molding compounds, and its own self-developed plastic systems. Also included in the range: consultancy, kitting, training, and door-step delivery.
