UK- based mining group Rio Tinto Alcan has announced that it will close its Lynemouth aluminium smelter located in Northumberland, England , which was opened in 1972. The company will proceed with the closure after consulting with its employees and representatives from the union during a 90-day period.

Praxair China to Supply Oxygen to Jiangsu Oji Paper

Chinese company, Praxair has entered into a contract with Jiangsu Oji Paper to supply oxygen for the purpose of pulp bleaching used in the process of paper manufacturing. As per the contract, Praxair will set up a vacuum and pressure swing adsorption system, on site, through which oxygen will be supplied to the Jiangsu Oji Paper Project situated in Nantong, Jiangsu province.
