CADWorx Brings Chemical Plant Design in 60% under Budget

COADE announced today that Dairen Chemical Corporation has completed design of its $60 million AAL-2 (Allyl Alcohol) facility in Jiangsu, China, its first using COADE’s CADWorx Plant Professional plant design software, completing it under budget by an estimated 60% and with 12,000 man-hours, 80% under initial estimates. Of the $60 million project cost, only about 1% was required for the design phase, an achievement that would not have been possible without CADWorx Plant Professional.

“Dairen Chemical was elated with the savings in time and money they achieved on this first project using CADWorx Plant Professional,” explained Chris Chen of Autosoftware Technology who assisted Dairen in its implementation of CADWorx. “And, they saved additional time and eliminated potential errors using the bi-directional link between CADWorx and CAESAR II for pipe stress analysis,” Chen added. This interface allows the plant designers and stress engineers to seamlessly pass information back and forth throughout the design process to ensure the design integrity of the finished facility and its piping systems.
