The MicroCal PEAQ-DSC microcalorimeters are powerful instruments that enable characterization of the thermal stability of proteins and other biomolecules, primarily for the development and manufacture of biopharmaceuticals.
They are used for general stability studies, for the optimization of purification and manufacturing conditions, and for biosimilarity and batch-to-batch comparability assessment. The MicroCal PEAQ-DSC systems are user-friendly, requiring minimal assay development, and no immobilization or labeling.
There are two MicroCal PEAQ-DSC Differential Scanning Calorimetry instruments available. Both of the instruments are designed for use in the regulated biopharmaceutical environment. The MicroCal PEAQ-DSC is a manual instrument, which provides reproducibility, equal performance, and minimum sample consumption for laboratories that require fewer samples to be tested.
The MicroCal PEAQ-DSC Automated system has an autosampler for hands-free operation, simplifying the workload of screening several samples.
MicroCal PEAQ-DSC software is used to operate both instruments. The software has four specialist modules:
- PEAQ-Performance - to guarantee optimal system operation
- PEAQ-Compliance - for 21 CFR Part 11 compliant operation and data analysis
- PEAQ-Compare - for the direct comparison of DSC thermograms, between batches and between molecules
- PEAQ-Smart (including PEAQ-Finder) - for SOP-based operation and automated analysis
