The FieldSpec® 4 Hi-Res is a ruggedized field-portable spectroradiometer providing high resolution spectral data. This high resolution spectroradiometer has been designed for more precise, faster spectral data measurements for an extensive range of remote sensing applications.
The 3 nm VNIR, 8 nm SWIR spectral resolution of the FieldSpec® 4 Hi-Res spectroradiometer offers greater spectral performance across the full range solar irradiance spectrum (350 – 2500 nm). The improved spectral resolution in the SWIR range (1000 – 2500 nm) is mainly useful for detecting and then identifying compounds comprising of narrow spectral features in the longer wavelengths such as gases for atmospheric analysis and alteration mineralogy.
Furthermore, the 8 nm resolution exceeds or meets the spectral resolution of most hyperspectral sensors enabling the FieldSpec 4 Hi-Res spectroradiometer to be an exceptional choice for sensor validation and calibration, and also for building spectral libraries and ground truthing.
The FieldSpec® 4 Hi-Res, like all ASD FieldSpec spectroradiometers, can be used as a high resolution spectrometer for extremely accurate contact reflectance measurements.
