The ASD FieldSpec® 4 Hi-Res NG Spectroradiometer is an enhanced spectral resolution for supporting accurate analysis of the next generation of hyperspectral sensors.
Higher resolution hyperspectral sensors are capable of yielding higher precision for remote sensing classification applications, generating more information from every pixel produced in an image than ever before. To help maximize the complete potential of these next generation sensors, measurements from ground based instrumentation will have to exceed or meet the sensor’s spectral resolution. Data is interpolated during post processing and vital spectral information can be smoothed and lost when this resolution equality is not available.
The advanced spectral resolution of the FieldSpec® 4 Hi-Res NG spectroradiometer has been designed in order meet the challenging demands of the next generation hyperspectral imaging systems such as HySpex ODIN-1024 and AVRIS-NG. Besides superior spectral resolution, the FieldSpec® 4 Hi-Res NG, like all ASD spectroradiometers, integrates graded index InGaAs photodiode SWIR detectors. It offers the smallest available spectral sampling interval in a field portable device with 1,875 measured wavelengths over the complete 350 to 2,500 nm spectral range, guaranteeing detection of even the most subtle spectral features.
