Testing Car Steering Rack using MultiTest 25-i from Mecmesin

This video shows the testing of car steering with Mecmesin MultiTest 25-i. This test is conducted to check the force needed to operate the steering over its full range of movement. The average force is recorded and shows how smooth the rack travels from one end to other. Mecmesin computer-controlled twin column test system is used to conduct the test and it is driven by Emperor Force testing software. The peak and average force as the steering rack is recorded by the software when the rack id moved forwards and backwards.

The MultiTest 25-i and Emperor software has been superseded by the OmniTest universal testing machine and VectorPro software.
