Tenova Win Contract for Pipe Mill Furnaces

TenarisTamsa and Tenova LOI Italimpianti have recently signed a contract for one Austenitizing Furnace and one Tempering Furnace for pipes to be installed in the new pipe mill of TenarisTamsa Plant in Veracruz, Mexico.

The two furnaces, having a production of 65 t/h, have been designed according to the last innovation concepts of LOI Italimpianti in the field of pipe heat treatment furnaces.

The main innovative features of these furnaces will be:

  • Installation of flameless burners on Hardening furnace to ensure Low Nox emissions and best temperature uniformity in to the furnace and then on the pipe itself.
  • Installation of self recuperative burners in the soaking zone of Hardening Furnace. This solution maximizes the heat recovery from waste gases and makes more flexible the furnace by keeping independent the Heating zone from the Soaking zone.
