High-Contrast Imaging and Precise Analysis with Talos F200C TEM

The Thermo Scientific Talos F200C TEM is a 20-200 kV thermionic (scanning) transmission electron microscope that has been specifically designed to ensure performance and productivity across a wide range of samples and applications, such as 2D and 3D imaging of cells, organelles, asbestos, polymers, and soft materials, both at ambient and cryogenic temperatures.

With its optional, motorized, retractable cryo-box and low-dose technique, this device elevates the imaging quality of beam-sensitive materials. A side-entry retractable energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) detector can also be added to the configuration for chemical analysis.

The large C-Twin pole piece gap, which provides high application flexibility, in combination with a reproducibly performing electron column, opens up a whole new realm of opportunities for high-resolution 3D characterization, in situ dynamic observations, and diffraction applications, with a particular emphasis on high-contrast imaging and cryo-TEM.

The Talos F200C TEM is outfitted with the rapid 4k × 4k Thermo Scientific Ceta 16M Camera, offering a wide field of view and swift imaging capabilities. It operates on a 64-bit platform, ensuring high sensitivity in image capturing.

Thermo Scientific Maps Software facilitates intuitive image-based navigation over a whole sample and easily correlates results across imaging platforms. For high-resolution, large-area imaging, the software automatically acquires and stitches together images, ensuring the entire area of interest is documented with exceptional quality.

Maps Software can be used across tools and within the tool. It supports the import, overlay, and alignment of images from various microscopes, including SEM and light microscopy. This feature allows for digital zooming from correlated low-magnification TEM and/or SEM images to high-resolution TEM (HRTEM), offering valuable contextual information.
