Challenges and Opportunities in Fluorine NMR Analysis

This webinar seeks to address the challenges and opportunities that occur from Fluorine (19F) NMR analysis and how the JEOL HFX probe can be a useful instrument in these assessments. Ron Crouch from JEOL will discuss the proper use of isotope shifts for correctly assigning perfluoro substances, alongside Dave Russell from Genentech, who will discuss using the 3-channel HFX-NMR system for drug discovery.

About the Presenters

Presenter: David Russell, Ph.D., Principal Scientist, Small Molecule Pharmaceutical Sciences, Genentech

David Russell is a seasoned structure elucidation scientist with 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.

Presenter: Ron Crouch, NMR Consultant, JEOL USA, Inc.

Ron Crouch, a graduate of Elon University, began his career at Burroughs Welcome Pharmaceuticals, where he worked alongside Nobel Prize winner Gertrude Elion and other distinguished scientists.

During his final nine years at Welcome, he had the opportunity to work directly with Gary Martin. Pursuing a deeper passion for NMR, Ron transitioned to Nalorac Corp as R&D Manager. He then spent several years in Applications at Varian NMR until Agilent’s exit from the NMR field. He has since enjoyed his role with JEOL USA, where he continues to advance his knowledge and expertise in NMR.
