The AMS7032 operational qualification (OQ) standard assesses an AM powder bed fusion machine's ability to reliably satisfy material specifications while maintaining process control and stability across several builds.
In this webinar, JEOL will discuss the importance of requirements such as AMS7032 for certifying powder bed fusion modes before serial production.
It will also present data demonstrating the ability of electron beam powder bed fusion (EB-PBF) to achieve the stringent AMS7032 OQ norms while meeting the AMS7011 material requirements for Ti-6AI-4V.
Agenda
- An overview of the JAM-5200EBM machine and its advanced capabilities
- A deep dive into the successful execution of an AMS7032 qualification
- Adherence of the JAM-5200EBM produced mechanical and material properties to standard industry specifications
Presenters
Jonathan Buckley is an AM applications engineer at JEOL USA. He has worked in the additive manufacturing business for seven years, primarily promoting EB-PBF technology.
Jonathan has expertise supporting an EB-PBF machine maker and using EB-PBF technology at an AM medical device contract manufacturer specializing in fabricating additively built orthopedic implants.
Kevin T. Slattery, Ph. D., is a principal advisor for Barnes Global Advisors. His primary focus is on metallic additive and metals manufacturing, specifically test program creation, process and product verification, qualification, and certification.
He is a 2020 America Makes ambassador, a silver medalist in the Materials Challenge at the USAF Rapid Sustainment Office Additive Manufacturing Olympics, and a 2022 SAE Contributor of the Year finalist.
He oversaw the adoption of seven industry-first technologies, including the first structural airplane part made with metal additive manufacturing. Before this, he was the chief scientist for AM and metals at Boeing Research and Technology. He now possesses 40 United States patents, with 13 applications pending.
